About me
Jihyun is a first-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Yale University. She works with Dr. Jutta Joormann in the Affect Regulation and Cognition Lab and Dr. Robb Rutledge in the Rutledge Lab. Her research during the doctoral program is supported by ILJU Fellowship.
Before joining the Ph.D. program, Jihyun worked as a research technician in the Rutledge Lab with Dr. Robb Rutledge at Yale University. In August 2021, she received a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, advised by Dr. Woo-Young Ahn in the Computational Clinical Science Lab at Seoul National University. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with the Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Honors in Management), she started pursuing an exciting journey to understand human mind and brain.
Her main research interests include 1) language use in depression and anxiety, 2) interaction between momentary mood and choices, and 3) individualized treatment plans for mood disorders. She has been mainly utilizing neuroimaging (e.g., fMRI, fNIRS), computational modeling and natural language processing.
Outside the lab, she is a pianist and (occasionally) k-pop dancer 💃😄
